Findel announces new annual charity partnership with Place2Be
June 2024
Educational resources supplier Findel has announced a new annual charity partnership with Place2Be, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people’s mental health.
Over the next 12 months, Findel will provide Place2Be with fundraising aimed at supporting pupils, families and staff in schools. Additionally, Findel will be an official sponsor of Children’s Mental Health Week 2025.
With 30 years of experience, Place2Be has been a cornerstone in UK schools, currently offering mental health support to children and young people in over 500 schools through one-to-one and group counselling sessions. The charity also provides expert training and professional qualifications to educators and mental health professionals
In the last school year, Place2Be reached over 298,000 children, including 33,300 pupils who independently scheduled their own appointments to speak to one of its mental health professionals.
Fundraising efforts are already underway. A dedicated team at Findel has recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks in support of Place2Be and one colleague has undertaken a 70-mile ultramarathon called The Wall, which goes from Carlisle to Gateshead.
In addition to fundraising, Findel will offer wider support, including virtual career guidance to young people through Place2Be’s Aspire programme.
Jade Selby, head of community and events, at Place2Be, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to be Findel’s chosen charity partner, and to work together to make a meaningful difference to children and young people across the UK.
“Each school day, hundreds of children and parents tell us about their challenges, from bereavement to bullying, from violence at home to friendship issues. Thanks to this partnership, more children and young people will be equipped to navigate these challenges.”
Findel is delivering the year-long charity partnership with Place2Be through the Findel Foundation. The long-term initiative from Findel aims to provide ongoing support to a range of children’s education, wellbeing and environmental causes throughout the UK.
Head of Findel Foundation, Claire Gleave, said: “At Findel, we pride ourselves on being more than a supplier to the education sector and are committed to playing our part to ensure children and young people get the best possible experience whilst in education.
“Our partnership with Place2Be is a testament to this. The charity is a fantastic cause and is truly making a difference in helping improve the mental health of children and young people, as well as supporting families and schools.
“We’re proud to support Place2Be through the Findel Foundation and we look forward to undertaking a whole host of fundraising events to support the charity across the next 12 months.”
