Celebrating National Apprenticeships Week 2024

February 2024

Supporting our local schools this National Apprenticeships Week 2024

National Apprenticeships Week #NAW2024 is a week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

On Monday 5th February we hosted a CV workshop for students from Hyde High School that are looking to go onto apprenticeships following school giving them some tips on how to get their CVs noticed and secure their first step on the career ladder!

10 year 11 students took the short trip to Findel and were given a tour of the offices, given the opportunity to hear from 5 colleagues that had either passed or currently undertaking an apprenticeship at Findel to give them knowledge and insight into what it’s really like to learn on the job and gain vital experience needed to progress on their career journey.

The feedback from the students was excellent, with each of the young people leaving Findel feeling more informed about their futures and learning something new that they didn’t know before their visit.

Claire Gleave, Head of the Findel Foundation said:

“Careers support plays a huge role in the Findel Foundation’s strategy and is an area as a business that we’re incredibly passionate about supporting. Over the past 12 months we have offered support to 10+ local high schools and colleges through various events including the CV workshop delivered today. We’re really proud of the work undertaken so far and would encourage all businesses to get involved and support their local future generations.”

Celebrating our very own Findel apprentices

National Apprenticeships Week is also a time to acknowledge and celebrate Findel’s existing apprentices. We know how much effort and hard work goes into achieving an apprenticeship so we wanted to hear more from them about how they juggle their busy working day alongside learning on the job…
